Smartphone decision

by ppdjoy - 12/24/13 4:51 PM

Hi

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S 4G (T959) for almost 2 years. I am going to change the phone to a new smartphone that has better specs than this. I experienced few recurring problems with the current one like frequent freezing, almost hitting toward the 512MB internal storage, few attempts to make a single call etc.

So considering all this, I want a smartphone that is within $200 for T-mobile or unlocked. I don't want something like Huawei, Alcatel or any other non-major brands. I preferably want something like Samsung, LG, Nexus, HTC or Motorola.

I really wanted Google Nexus 4 which almost fit my want: 8MP rear-camera (1.3 front-camera), 8GB internal storage, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro (fast processor), Android 4.0 or higher, plus it said it was $199 on Google Play. But Google stopped selling it in their website. Is there any other website that sells Nexus 4 for $199? I didn't even find it at that price in eBay or Amazon.

Next, I considered Motorola Moto G. It's a new phone from Motorola that almost has equivalent specs except: 5MP rear-camera (1.3MP front-camera), 8GB or 16GB internal storage, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, Quad-core 1.2 GHz. 8GB costs $179 & 16GB costs $199. But some reviews online say that the processor is quite slow in comparison to others on the market. Also, the photo quality is not that great. Does anyone know how slow it is? Is it like when playing games on the phone or regular use, like web surfing, listening to music, taking photos/videos etc? Does the photo quality really lack fine details? blurry? unclear? Is there any other problems associated with this model?

Finally what would be some options for me with these criteria besides Nexus 4 or Moto G?
- Android 4.0 or higher
- 5MP+ rear (1.3MP+ front) camera
- fast processor (at least 1.2GHz)
- 8GB+ internal storage
- moderate to long battery life
- 1GB+ RAM
- 3G (4G if possible)
- under $200

Thanks
