I put my iPhone 4 in the pocket of my bath robe when the dog wanted to go out in the back yard quick one morning. A little while later, while doing laundry, I decide to put my robe in too at the last minute. I got back to my bedroom and reached in my robe pocket for my phone, and only then thought - Oh No! It's all in the wash machine!
Ran to the washing machine, which had filled with water, but luckily the agitation hadn't started quite yet. Found my phone, pulled it out of the soggy robe ocket, took the case off, wiped the phone and set in in a dish of rice. I kept it in the rice for 3 days, turning it over and burying it again every so often.
Turns out, it was fine! My son told me to take the SIM card out, but try as I might, just could not get that out. Tried various tools and silverware around the house, but nothing helped. So it went into the rice with the SIM card in it. At first, it seemed like the sound had a touch of static, but that lasted only a day or two. So then my son said to stick headphones in that audio hole, and remove them later on, like a day or so later. Maybe that helped, but the static went away.
In addition, I have dropped my phone several times . . . on cement sidewalk, on blacktop driveway, on ceramic tile, and once it even bounced off the edge of the bathroom sink counter and then bounced on the ceramic tile floor a couple times before it came to rest.
I can only think my iFrogz case helped it through all the torture I accidentally inflicted - and give that case all the credit. Got it at K-mart on a clearance sale for a song! My next case, when I need one will likely be that same brand.
