Does anyone have any idea how a person can make a 'one ring' hangup call to my cell phone without leaving any evidence of where the call came from? There is no caller id trace.
It is always just a single ring and most often during the night while I'm trying to sleep.
My present phone is an LG android but I've had several other clam shell type phones over the years and this perp has been doing this to my phone for years.

In addition, the person doing this to my phone appears to know when I receive calls because he will sometimes ring my phone immediately after I answer a normal call. My call waiting beep will commence. Later when I call the 'missed call' number back, it turns out to be a fake number.
Any and all help will be appreciated.

...either it was misdialed in error or the person is blocking their caller ID. There are applications available at no cost that will block callers with blocked caller ID. Don't know what else you can do beyond that.

This has ben going on for a 'very long' time.
Also I do not think it is a person blocking their caller id via the usual methods. I think when a call comes in from a blocked caller id....there is usually an indicator stating 'blocked' or something similar.
