Samsung Omnia W (touch screen failure - please help)

Hi, I'm new to the forum so I'm hoping I will get answers quickly.
I purchased a Samsung Omnia W in May 2012 and the phone is still under guarantee, but Orange seem to be incapable of helping me in anyway because they are most likely clueless about the products they sell.
SO
here is the problem (that has already been encountered by me once in this previous year)
-My touch screen has failed, and I have noticed that it does not work on the battery alone, for it to function it needs to be plugged into the Phone charger or my PC, if not plugged in to any source of electricity, it doesn't respond at all..
I have asked my provider and they have said that they can recharge my battery for me (useless), but I have been wondering if any of you may have encountered this problem before, and how did you solve it?
NOTE : I have tried returning the phone to it's factory settings, and using only my PC as a charger (because the power is higher, and I can sometimes get some remaining juice in the phone for about two hours before it does not work again)
This is urgent for me as I always use my phone..
