Can my S3 screen be replaced with a used S3?

I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy 3 that I dropped the day I bought it. I 'm looking to replace the screen with a used S3 that has a different model number. Mine is an i747 the used model is a L710. I need to know if the screens are compatible for replacement. If anyone could answer this question for me I would gratefully appreciate it. Thanks happy

One is GSM, the other CDMA so it's a pretty safe bet. I doubt Samsung will confirm this.

I called Samsung and they told me it wouldnt fit because the one is manufactured in the States and has different dimensions. The person I spoke to couldnt clarify alot of my questions and im doubting the information she gave me. I only have less then a day to figure this out and im worried about buying the used phone and losing out on money for christmas.

It's rare to see anyone get so close in such a match. Good try but I doubt you'll find anyone tell you it's a perfect match. Besides the device is rarely user serviceable. Read this link.

I called Samsung and I was told it would not work but the tech could not properly educate me as to why. So now I am doubtful of the information I was given by them. I only have a day to figure this out and i do not want to buy the device and waste money that could be used for christmas. I need my phone fixed badly though.
