Manage updates with the Download App
On my 6th HTC Thunderbolt in almost 2yreas w/ Verizon. Couple phones back, think about 7 months or so now, (Iv'e had so many I'm loosing track) I noticed that I can no lnger simply tap my screen on the hyperlink and make it go to the URL. For instance, if I am reading an email in gmail and it say's "to view the latest post on this topic go to www. xxxxxxxx.com". Mind you that this hyperlink is NOT highlighted merely B&W text.
I called HTC support and the person said "Android lost privileges to hyperlinks".. She say's, go into settings and select "maximum data" or something to that affect which I did with help but nothing changed.
What the xxxx is up, anyone know ? I even went into Verizon to tell someone about it but he sidetracked me with a "new prospect" and after 10 mins. I left.

Since we can use almost any other email APPLICATION I can't tell which app you are using so I can't check to see if I have that app and check to see if there are settings to change.
It is possible in today's nanny state and how companies are treating users like children they could push out such an update "to protect the users from themselves" but let's hope you can tell what app the email is being read in and then let's find the settings.

I'm not sure of the "app" you're asking. I simply have my Gmail mail account on my Android 4G phone. In as much as you're needing more info on that, so am I in order to answer your question. I'm fairly proficient with technology but no expert.

And look in it's menu/settings to discover what app it is and what version.
Until I know what app, I can't check it out.

As I don't know which email app it is, I have no way of telling you what you may see in this app's menu or settings.
In other words you'll have to fish around or just ask someone that has used android before. This area is not standardized beyond tapping the menu or settings button. I have Android things from 1.6 to 4.something and I can see why folk will get lost. But if they poke around they usually can get the needed info.
