Uploading apps

Recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-5830T Smartphone and have spent last few days setting it up. I have loaded Kies to my computer and connected my phone. While looking through the Samsung website for apps, I noticed it said to D/L apps through Kies but I can't see a way to do this. Would be easier than through data or WiFi. Is this possible? or is it only for certain phones ? Am in Australia. If someone can tell me how this is done would be grateful.

Make sure you select the correct country, and register as such.

Couldn't you simply use the already installed market app to obtain android apps via android marketplace(?) Or am I getting my phone makes/models confused(?) [it's late and I should really go to bed...]

I could use the built in marketplace but was really looking for a way to do things a little quicker and easier. Via marketplace requires time, battery power and good connection though either data or WiFi which isn't always possible. I did contact Samsung and was told that they use a Bada system and because my phone has Andriod it can't be done. My argument is that if that is the case then why state at the bottom of the apps page that it can be done though Kies ? or append it to say only with certain operating systems. I was also curious as to whether someone had found a possible loophole.

You really need to bite the bullet

Downloading apps wirelessly really isn't a significant drain on battery, nor does it take exorbitant amounts of time.
Are you *really* spending _that_ much time away from wifi?

Truth be told, part of what you are experiencing is why I generally avoid Samsung hardware/software whenever possible. You can get a better overall experience & support elsewhere. IME they often advertise features than can at best be considered half-baked.
