I have looked at the various cell phones and terms of use - and I'm totally confused (and I am a retired data communications consultant).
I need a cell phone now and then, and have no way of predicting my monthly usage. I don't travel, I drive in the metropolitan area of NYC. I need a simple phone to communicate with my wife (she travels, and has a contract cell phone) when I'm picking her up at the train station, the airport, or the mall.
I see pre-paid, and pay as you go, and contract - but most seem to still be monthly, in a sense. What I need is a pay per call, either pre-paid or billed, such that my "minutes" don't go into cyberspace if I don't use them in a certain period. My calls are very short, just enough to say where I am and when I'll be there - and my incoming are equally short "the train is an hour late", etc.
Any advice appreciated,
Best, Jon
