Cell phones forum: Why smartphones are so costly or over-priced in India..??

Perhaps different countries have different situations,so the price will be different. But it will be controlled at a reasonable range.

The Link of Best Buy you posted, The phone is Imported Unlocked/Unbranded(No T-Mobile, At&t logo that comes with Bloat ware crap) Version, Sure buying Imported phones will cost little more! I very doubt it, That will come with manufacture warranty! Samsung USA will not fix it, if the phone have so called International warranty read complaints from Amazon and other small retail sites on that Issues! I hammered Samsung USA & their Facebook page, Sell their phones unlocked/unbranded to the US market! to big retailers & online retailers so they can sell their phones at more competitive prices, Just like they sell their TV's ect. same model at more better prices! The cell providers monopolize the phone market it only allows them to sell US branded locked phones at Higher than retail price if you buy the phone without contract! even with contract you still pay more than the phone is worth! So if Samsung, HTC and others will wake up and sell their phones US Version unlocked/unbranded to retail stores & online stores, You will get the phones more cheaper deals to attract customers! If The Cell providers is going to scream about it and make threats let them There is a very high demand for unlocked/unbranded phones in the US market, So if Samsung & others sell it They still will make big bucks on sales by selling unlocked/unbranded version, Plus that will come with US warranty, Buying Imported phones in stores & online that has no manufacture warrany if it breaks it becomes a expensive paper weight! Other Countries has more freedom of choice they get unlocked phones and chooses cell providers (no contract) they want, While in the US We have no freedom of choice The Cell providers is holding us Hostage, Samsung, HTC & others need to grow a pair and tell the Cell providers FO! we want to give the consumers what they want selling our phones unlocked/unbranded to retails stores, So they consumers won't be forced to purchase our products by cell providers only!
