Are there Apps for pc's too?

I don't own any of those iphones with all those apps, but I am getting 'jealous' of some of what these apps can do and wondered if any are adaptable to just the plain old pc's? If so, where could i find them and are they free?

Computers have always had access to "freeware" and "shareware" similar to apps on a smart phone. Think of it this way, an application for a smart phone is a more condensed version of a program installed on a computer. Remember that computer programs don't the same portability as a smartphone app for obvious reasons. Today's smartphones are starting to blur the lines between portable computers and smart phones.
