Galaxy SIII Issues (Keyboard, Dictionary, SMS, Internet etc)

by Smallard5 - 7/11/12 4:53 AM

Hi,

I've had my galaxy S3 for about a month now and there are a few issues that are starting to get on my nerves. If any one is having similar issues let me know or if anyone knows how to resolve any of them.

- Keyboard

When I go into a message, Google search or most application and I click in the enter text area it takes a very long time, >10 seconds, for the keyboard to appear and sometimes it doesn't appear at all. This needs to be sorted as its a basic function of a phone.

- Dictionary

The personal dictionary gets deleted every time the phone is restarted or shut down and turned on again. The reason for having to turn it off is the subject of my next point.

- Slow Running

The SIII was meant to be fast with its 4 cores but its slower than my HTC One S. When I press the home button, for example, it can take a few seconds to respond and the time display can take a few more seconds to appear after that. When I first got the phone a month ago it was quick and slick but now its not. And yes I did think about storage space, running and installed apps, cookies, internet history, etc and I cleared everything but the only thing that makes a difference is restarting the phone but this only helps for about 2 days.

- SBookmarks

The SBookmarks will some times not let me select any of my internet bookmarks and I have to click on the settings button then leave that then go back to the sbookmarks and it works. Another annoyance.

- Internet

When I'm surfing the internet I sometimes have to write a text message, make a call or whatever so I have to leave the internet by pressing or holding the home button. When I go back to the internet the last page I was on does not appear but a random one from my history. I don''''t understand this at all and I have to try and find the page I was on. I looked under tabs and it still wasn''''t there. I have only just found the page history section but I still shouldn't have to be doing this. This problem has been present from the first time I used the phone.

-Messaging

I have noticed that with the SIII some text messages won't send and the loading symbol will remain next the the message for hours until I decide to restart the phone. After I do this I return to my messages and it says message unable to be sent so I press resend and it goes straight away. This never happened on my old HTC ONE S or other phones. I am using the same sim card as my last phone (2 months old, one month in HTC One S and one month in SIII) so it couldn't be that and I never changed price plan or provider.

- Random Application Appearance

I few times I have been using an application and pressed the back button to leave an application but another application appears on the screen instead so I press the back button again and another appears, and another, and another. After a fair few it stops. My guess is that I have a few recent apps and they come up but why would they??

If anyone is having similar issues let me know or if anyone has any fixes

Cheers

Si
