Multimedia Mobile Phone made Comfortable
With Personal Computer Capabilities and
Enhanced Security
Extensive TV-out enabled

I would like to introduce a new device with a working name "E=MC3" which stands for "Enjoyment = Multimedia phone * Comfortable Computer Capabilities". This device belongs to a new subgroup of Mobile Phones. It uses a combination of existing technologies, existing hardware and existing software. My innovation consists of a unique well-thought design and implementation.

No company is known to produce this device.

This device will be irreplaceable for travellers in developing countries and users in the developing countries.

In addition, due to the diversity of its features the device will also be highly useful to: Frequent travelers, businessman, security conscious people, backpackers, flashpackers, lecturers, teachers, students, police and military personnel.

The main feature of E=MC3 will be an addition of a remote control which will instantly turn it into a comfortable media player [Go Gear]. The remote control will also be used for off-hand video recording, taking photos and control when showing presentations.

The second important feature is the inclusion of an USB port which will allow hot playing of movies and various media context directly from the flash drives and thus will expand potential storage capacity to infinity; it will also be used for a connection of a keyboard.

The third important feature will be the inclusion of tv-out and providing composite, component and HDMI cables for the best compatibility especially in developing countries. The tv-out will also be used to turn the mobile phone into a simple computer. It will provide internet browsing, text editor, games and various applications. A keyboard attached via USB or Bluetooth will be used for input and a TV screen will be used for output.
The fourth important feature is a well-thought system of privacy, data protection and encryption, which will operate intuitively with the stored encrypted data in the mobile phone's memory, MicroSD card and the flash drives using TrueCrypt software. The goal is to prevent unauthorized access both to the functions of E=MC3 as well as to its data. TrueCrypt allows working with encrypted data in real-time (on-the-fly).
An example of how the encryption could be used: A user will create a virtual encrypted partition within a file (file container) using either computer or the mobile phone, copy into it his sensitive files and private movies, and save that file in the phone's memory. Afterwards this file could be opened by typing a password. Once the correct password is provided the user will be able to access all his data.

The fifth important feature is the dual SIM operation with an optional additional slot for one more SIM card to which it could always be switched to. Physically the cellphone will have slots for 3 SIM cards, but only two of them will be operational at any given time. This is very useful for people who have frequent travel across different countries.

The sixth important feature is to implement a new state of operation while E=MC3 is connected to a charger. In this additional state, which is to be called static state, the phone won't be using a battery. Therefore if someone would like to connect the mobile phone for a long time to the TV, it won't be in a cycle of continuously recharging and using the battery. This will protect the lifespan of the battery.

Additional features which are highly advisable to implement:
Two 3.5mm audio outputs allowing listening to an audio content with a partner.
Automatic amplifying of quiet songs and movies.
Quality Voice recording for memo's (short-range mic) and lectures (long-range mic).
A Flash for Camera which could also be used as a flashlight with customizable intensity.
WiFi, 3G, 4G shall be supported including with a possibility of internet browsing using TV for output.
Trashcan for SMS messages and other context, so that the user may restore information which was accidently deleted.
Built-in software to cut out several fragments of video at once. It's very useful for fast video editing.

Additional thoughts

E=mc3 shall be able to play all popular video and audio formats without a need for a conversion.

The internal loudspeaker may be positioned in the same way of Samsung E-590, providing additional noticeable increase of sound once a customer will put it on a hard surface.

It should have pico projector concept well thought out because the E=MC3 will be very useful for showing presentations. (Especially with MicroVision SHOWWX+ Laser Pocket Projector.) Due to a small size of the Laser Projector, it could actually be built-in in one of the future versions of the mobile phone (however tripod for mounting would have to be included in this case.)

I have a vision of how this mobile phone should work, how the encryption on-the-fly shall be implemented, how to beta-test it to assure it will receive highest possible ratings in reviews and I believe it will be of the best interest of your company if I'll be invited to work together on this project in a position of external executive advisor.

It's of highest importance to produce a device without a rush, which will have professional sound quality, very good signal reception and a highly intuitive interface. It should be extensively beta-tested to ensure it's comfortable to use and the software should be well thought out. The full customization shall be given the highest priority as well.

I predict a very good reception of this device both by technology critics as well as the users. I believe if everything is done the way I envision, this device will score higher than 9 on CNET and other review media. I'm confident that E=MC3 can be built as an exceptional device which has a broad appeal to various kinds of customers. Implementing all of the proposed features and some others which I didn't include in this brief proposal should skyrocket it on top of the market. I'm confident that we have a chance to develop a very usable device which will give many users what they had been waiting for.
