Like you said, the 6350 is nothing special, but then all I require is a phone that works good. I am in the Dayton, Ohio area. From what I am reading Straightalks flip phones are not very good which is why I was planning on keeping mine.

http://reviews.cnet.com/cell-phones/motorola-w385-black-verizon/4505-6454_7-32509529.html is one of the models I see at straighttalk. It's a basic flip phone. Hard to find a 5 out of 5 star phone.

Even that iPhone didn't get all 5.

Yes, most unlocked GSM phones work with Straight Talk

But as Bob has pointed out, you need to verify it's using GSM (on ATTs cell sites) in your area first. Head to Howardforums.com for that info, along with more specifics on what changes have happened with ST service.

If you can unlock it on the cheap, it might be worth it since you know the RF performance is good. FWIW, that Moto they sell is *horrible*.

I have someone with the w385 in the SoCal area and they don't complain. It's a c__ppy value phone sure, but here in SoCal (LA to San Diego) it seems to always work.

...many variables there are w/ cellular. LA is generally known to be one of ATT's least performing regions of the U.S., partially because of topography, and partially because of the network they acquired and built on top of.

hey jspangie. sorry for the late reply just joined cnet. but i bough a iphone 4 and put a straight talk micro sim in it and it works fine. aslong as your phone is gsm you should be good
