is it possible to tether a samsung f480i to windows xp via usb cable? would special software or drivers be necessary?
has anyone done this?

I sent an e-mail to Samsung and they responded yes. I am just having a few problems with the connection, I think I may have put in the wrong password or something. If you go to the Samsung PC Studio and connect your phone, then click on the Toolbox link down the bottom and click Connect to Internet - it will stop your phone connection with the PC Studio and be able to connect to the phone.

My error message reads "Connection failed. X OS Error Message: The PPP link control protocol was terminated" and I think it's just a setting issue.

Hi there, I thought I would update this and let you know that it is possible to tether the Samsung F480i to Vista, so I would say you could tether with XP as well.

It took me a while, but after hooking up my mum's phone I thought I would give mine a go again and it worked. I did have to update all the software because I had not updated the software since I installed it, and updated the software on the phone but did not see the Internet Connection in the bottom icons until I scrolled across.

You might have a few teething problems but if you persist, you will get there.
