Lanyard holder?

Ready to buy a smart phone...turning in my Verizon Samsung Convoy. As a sailor who's dropped not a few phones in the drink (popped off a belt holder, fallen from pockets, etc.) I finally figured out that, goofy as it looks to have it on a lanyard around my neck and kept in a shirt pocket, since using the Convoy (which has a little built in loop for a lanyard) I have not lost a phone since. ANYONE: do any of Verizon smart phones have a lanyard holder? Thanks.

After a (very!) disappointing visit yesterday to a local Verizon store to touchy-feel a G'zOne Commando (oops! Verizon said they had none in the store, but I could look at it on-line); and check out a Samsung Stratosphere ($149!), I asked if I could use a lanyard with any of their smartphones, and was told (derisively) that that was just not a feature that anyone wanted so phones were not made that way any more. After a futile visit to a local Best Buy, I went to Costco because I had heard that they had the Stratosphere for much better price ($29.99!), and found that (1) they had also a G'zOne (nice, but I decided against the 3G in favor of G4), and (2) I certainly could use a lanyard (there's hook under the battery cover!) with the Samsung Commando, which is now my new smartphone!

...but an external case for the Samsung Stratosphere kinda doesn't work with the slide out qwerty k/b...point I was trying to make is that most of these smartphones DO have a lanyard capability, though now I've had 3 Verizon techs tell me 'not possible anymore.' (It's usually under the snap out cover.) Happy T'day, pepe7, and all others.
