Not buying an iPhone today
So I'm an AT&T customer with no complaints. And I'm a long time Palm PDA user. So I finally broke down and got a Treo 680 so I don't have to carry a phone AND a PDA. I'm very happy with my new toy, and while the newer toy looks shinier, I'll wait until this one becomes an old toy.
By the way, I like being able to call up a web page on my phone when I get the whim to do so to research a conversation topic, to catch the latest news (so I'm not forced to watch another story about the brat pack, the latest wildfire, or the latest missing person) like while I'm seated in my comfy couch, or standing in line. And Google Maps or Telenav . . . Awesome! I'm never lost.
Now, if Palm goes away net time I'm ready to upgrade, I'll take a good hard look at the iPhone. The interface is compelling, and it's not like it's the first generation of touch screens (Hellooooo! Palm Pilot!?!?). So I think it will be a good product for the urban techie, info hog, news addict, entertainment junkie, spoiled rotten, affluenza afflicted American (there's plenty of those to keep Mr Jobs rich for a long while).
But that's just my thinking. If it works, it will sell. It's going to work.
