At this time absolutely not.
Pricing is not an issue, for I have spent around the same amount and a bit more for unlocked GSM smartphones from Nokia, HTC and Sony Ericsson.
Compared to the N93, N95, E70, E61i, TyTN, Treo 680 and even the p990i the feature set is just not impressive to me at all. Okay sure, the interface with multi-touch would catch anyone's attention, but KEEPING that attention is what it's all about.
I think that for experienced smartphone users who own unlocked phones for more than just basic calls, the iPhone at best appears to be an average device that is basically eye candy.
Another pet peeve for me is the form factor. For some reason I just like phones that have a heft to them like the N93 and Treo 680...I just ordered a Nokia E90 yesterday for overnight shipment. The cutesy, sleek and shiny glass form is great for my iPod, but not my phone.
I love my Macbook Pro, my iPod, my Airport Express and am intrigued by the iPhone...but only enough to play with it for a few minutes and be done like a one-night stand. At the end of the day there just isn't enough on this device to keep me around for the long haul.
