Cell phones forum: NetZero Through Cell Phone

I'd like to access my dial-up internet account on the laptop via the cell phone instead of via the landline.

actually, there is a modem in the setup... the motorola razr is a USB modem. I have a vx8300, but I know this works with the razr also. You can connect your PC to your razr using a mini-b usb cable. http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5Fid=208&sku=27329 From there, you would need to find the driver for the modem. Just search for: razr modem driver. Make sure you get the right driver, (original razr vs v3 razr). Once you install the driver, the modem will be installed and windows will recognize it as if it were any other internal or external modem. One problem with using your cell phone though is even slightly poor reception will cause connectivity issues, also cell phones have a slight delay compared to landlines. I have successfully used netzero with my cell phone while driving down the road, it disconnected often and went very slowly when it was connected. good luck.

Actully if can get Motorola phone tools, you'll have the driver then set it a dail up connection, MotorolaUSB as the modem, untill need your netzero dail number, user id & password, & it will use your mins.
