99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Unique Issue

I have a '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a unique electrical issue. I have already searched the existing forums and Google to no avail. So, here it goes:
Everything in the Jeep works just fine until the front, right door is opened. When that door is open, the electric locks and windows won't work. I haven't torn into it yet. In the interim, I'm inclined to think there is a short in the door's wiring harness which grounds out when the door is opened. Then again, I'm not real sure how that would effect the left side either. Anyone ever encountered this issue in the past. I will look into any and all suggested solutions. I just have no idea where to start on this one. At first, I thought the PCI may be an issue since it so often is, however, I fail to see how it could be in this case since the trigger is opening the front passenger door. Thank you in advance for any guidance provided!
On a side note, all of my gauge's back lights but one are out. Any idea where I can purchase replacement ones and possibly guidelines for replacement? Thanks again! Bryan Cox
