1995 jeep cherokee sport 4.0 6 cyl. starting problem

cranks fine wont start .no spark,no fuel pump sound. after 10 or so trys it starts but runs rough for 1/2 a minute or so (like to much fuel,smokes black). after this clears up it runs fine and can be driven around the country with no problem.if you shut it off it starts right up, if you shut if off and lt sets for an hour or better same problem all over again. PLEASE HELP

Mechanics says it's your computers, crankshaft sensors, starting Selenoid, and then I decided to bypass ignition starter to my selenoid as starts up due to skipping sensors. Not recommended for non technical-get a electrician or mechanic professional to get it done. Also see ' how question' in the web... All jeeps between 1995 thru 2005 have similar problems. China manufacturing bought all the rights for in-line six engine.

Thanks for the reply. just for everybodys info , I already replaced the crank sensor , distributor cap , rotor , pickup coil and the battery is new. My mechanic thinks its the fuel pump but its an expensive test if its not the problem and I dont believe it is. At one point it showed an alternator code put I dont believe that either because of the way it runs perfect after the first few minutes after it finally starts and it starts every time if you keep trying. Thanks Again
