Audi A6 A/C problem

I own a Audi A6 that will blow hot air out the side vents while the A/C is on. It also still blows cold air out the middle but the side vents get very hot. This does not happen all the time only every once in a while. I wanted to see if anyone knew what may cause this.

I have the same thing happening on my 2006 A6 Avant. My local mechanic says it's most likely the valve on the heater side of the AC control that is failing. It generally happens only when I am setting a temperature that requires a mix and the ambient outside temp is close my set point. We have not done anything yet waiting until the it does this all of the time (a complete failure of the valve).

Same issue here - Avant A6 2006.

Do you have any idea (even a shot in the dark) of what the repair costs would be for that issue (assuming it's the valve you mention)

Hey,

No have not resolved... but did manage to dig out that it seems to be a known issue.

It seems to relate to a pump-valve. I'm not a mechanic though so don't really know what that is or how much that will cost to resolve.

I did ask my mechanic to come back with a quote for repair.

I'll revert once I know more.

Condition
With the same temperature settings, different temperature air comes from the outlet vents on the driver sideand passenger side. The outside outlet vents release warm air, and the inside outlet vents release cool air.
Insufficient cooling from climate system.
