FIRST CAR AND WANT A 4 DOOR TUNER

I'm looking for my very first car. I would like a 4 door that for around 7k that I can get a lot out of. I plan to do alot of body work to make it my own then dive into the performance parts. I don't have much of a preference aside from the 4doors and price.

Seconded. Used WRXes have tremendous tuning potential. It's easier to upgrade its factory turbo than to add a turbo to a naturally aspirated car. Plus, there's a huge community of power and suspension tuners to lend you their experience and an occasional helping hand along the way.

Just make sure that the previous owner hasn't run the vehicle into the ground or bent suspension components with wannabe off-road rallying attempts.

Check insurance prices before you buy a WRX

They're great cars, but notoriously expensive to insure.

Also, if you can afford it, get a 2.5 liter model.

Had this in 07 skin, and blew a rod at 36k miles after it was in and out of the dealer getting fixed for months, biggest POS on the planet... Go with the older 2.0... they are not as torque'y but they are far better for a daily driver..
