1994 jeep grand cherokee V8 sputtering

my 94 jeep is sputtering only when i take off. it has a rough idle after the car has been warmed up. when i'm at stop lights its idles as if it wants to cut off, sometimes it does. one thing i can say is that i do believe its running rich because i can smell the fumes. when the car gets out of first gear it runs fine, but if i try to step on the gas pedal to pass a car or something it just sputters it never picks up. i've changed the spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, throttle body etc... please help me figure this out before i drive this truck off a cliff. thanks

What engine?...How many miles?...Any trouble codes or check engine light?

Start with the Throttle Position Sensor...they usually can be removed and cleaned with carburetor cleaner and reinstalled or replaced for around $40...An easy fix you can do yourself with a #20 torx screwdriver.

i had some same issue. using the proper codes you can easily try and fix the problem. I was having the issue in my chevy and after checking the chevy engine codes was able to fix the problem fast. let me know if you get any problems.
