Whether or not the larger screen is worth the extra cash is purely subjective. Take a moment and play with both devices to determine your own cost/feature cut-off point. Personally, I like a bigger screen while driving, because it's easier to see. But when I have to take the device with me when I leave the car, I can understand the virtues of a smaller, more portable device.
Consider also that the 256t/wt both feature text-to-speech, which reads street names aloud, so you won't have to stare at the screen to know what street to turn onto.
On the matter of whether the Bluetooth handsfree is better on the 256wt vs. the 265t, I'm sure that the hardware of the two devices is probably pretty similar with the exception of the larger form factor. The differences between the reception is most likely negligible.
Constantly changing interference from other devices, different phones being used in testing, variable background noise, vehicle acoustics and device placement (along with a host of other variables) make anecdotal differences between models (and sometimes even units of the same model) a non-issue.
