2008 chevy tahoe factory nav system

My gps isn't working correctly its giving me the gps with the red line through it....What can be done to get the signal again? Or does anyone have any suggestions? Ive taken it to the dealership twice and they can't fix it.

If it's a 2008, it should still be under warranty, and the dealer should fix it. Unfortunately, not all repair departments are up on the dashboard electronics. It could be something as simple as the GPS antenna--either the cable isn't connected or the antenna itself doesn't have a clear view of the sky. I'm not sure exactly where the GPS antenna is in the Tahoe, but it should be visible attached somewhere to the body of the car.

Chevy Dealer Answer

The dealer said they can't fix your GPS and that't it? What kind of bogus answer it that? Ask them for the number for the GM District Manager so you can complain to a higher level. They should be installing a new unit. I'd give it one more try then bring the vehicle and your keys back and demand another vehicle. Has the dealer heard of the Lemon Law?? My wife's 2007 Acura RDX had a problem with the radio going black and they didn't know the problem. They at least kept the car for a couple of days and gave us a new RDX to drive until the they got an answer from Acura, then replaced the entire radio unit which has worked perfectly since. Having a dealer give a dumb answer like "We can't fix it" and not give any solution is rediculous.
