2000 Jeep Cherokee Stalling and wont start sometimes

My jeep Started stalling for no apparent reason sometimes at lights and sometimes driving down the freeway. Yesterday it wouldn't start it would only crank. then after about 2 hours it finally started. Any ideas what is going on.

Its got the jeep flu. I think its the computer. I hate to say. but the check engine light wont come on? will it?
