Car Tech forum: I want the Ford Sync

I doubt you'll see the MS sync in anything but Ford vehicles. Ford did an exclusive deal with Microsoft to improve sales of their struggling vehicle lineup and to make them more appealing.

I know for a fact (I for one work at such a place) that there are up and coming after-market products that will be very competitive to the sync if not blow it out of the water with customization options.

Whaoa! "I work in the field" and other dashboards will blow Sync out of the water!

I was hoping Ford would provide a little more support for people who had bought a recent model and were willing to pay to upgrade their cabin tech, I don't expect Sync to be offered to me as cheap as a new car owner would get it, but not to have the option at all proves they still haven't gotten a clue about supporting their customers. All I want is an option, the price can be whatever they choose, and no the price of a new car is not reasonable as my current car is the exact same model with all the features except the Sync option. Sigh.

I have said what you say for many years. Most American car makers act like they can only do what their designers say and not work outside the so-called box.

We are individuals and need them to be as diverse as we can be.

I bought a 2007 Ford Edge when Sync was not available, but would like the convenience of Sync in place of having to add what I did, a Parrot Bluetooth Hands-free device which has devices on the dash and console which look like an add on and don't have the feel of Sync.

I own an 2008 FORD F350 KING RANCH. I have a in-dash navigation/radio system. I am looking for the new SYNC system or if there is a aftermarket that will fit in my dash.
