Best in car GPS for around $700???

Hi all,

I could do with some advice on the above. Don't mind going over $700 for the right product (husband's Christmas gift!), but I want to keep it under $1000. We live in central FL if that helps in terms of product with best POI info for this area. He was considering something from Garmin as he's a runner and uses their monitor for recording his run performance and has been impressed, but I want to be sure I choose the best one for him.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Garmin Nuvi

It sounds like you want one that can be used in the car and while on foot. The best one we've seen at CNET for road and foot is the Garmin Nuvi 350, which you can get for under $700 (although some of the available software options will put it well over).

GTM11 - necessary or not if we already have Sirius???

Thanks for your reply - I am looking into the Nuvi 350 right now!

One more quick question. We already have Sirius satellite radio in the car, so do I also need to get the GTM11 for the live traffic updates on the Nuvi, or will this simply replicate what we can already get from the traffic channel(s) on Sirius?

Eclipse AVN 5500

I have satellite radio on my Eclipse Navigation and I was wondering what it would take for me to get live traffic report or is it even available?

Garmin nuvi 780

I experimented the nuvi 780 instantly by driving while rush hour to my sisters home opposite the waterway in a confused streets, after that coming back at night. The Garmin nuvi 780 had no problem calculating a very swift direction to the target that detoured most of the traffic-jammed street while rush hour.
