Community poll forum: What brand of digital camera do you own?

I shoot the Nikon D2X, D200, & D80. D2X offers 8 frames per second shooting (in crop mode), D200 offers 5 fps, D80 3 fps. The control over depth of field and other parameters is unbeatable when combined with such stellar Nikor lenses as the 200mm f2.0, and 200-400mm f4.0.

One of the primary reasons to buy a Nikon is the stellar glass they manufacture. Although the D2X is 12.8 megapixel, lens quality makes far greater difference in image quality than does the megapixel count.

I loved this camera till the switch activated by the sliding door over the lens stopped working. Now I can't turn it on though I can see the pictures I have taken. I have a memory card reader on the computer so seeing the pictures taken is not a problem there either. So I guess I have to buy another camera. In general I still prefer film.

The Canon digital camera that I own is a Powershot S3 IS. It's a fun camera to use. You can do a lot with it, there's something like twenty shooting modes, tv-quality video with stereo sound (acceptable for dvds (video editing) and tv viewing, and other features such as sound recorder/sound memos for your 6.1 megapixel photos. There's macro and supermacro modes. The ISOs on it go from 80-800/HI ISO AUTO as well as your standard AUTO ISO. There are colour swap/my colours features that allow the user to record a scene in any colour one wants; the bad side is that if one really wanted that memory recorded in its original colours as you remembered it, you're out of luck. You can use the my colours mode in both the video and still modes. Also what neat about the videoclip mode of this model of Powershot is that one can zoom in and out while filming and the video quality is very good as well for an AVI (motion jpeg) with sound recorded in the PCM wave format of up to 16 bit that rivals the video capturing capabilities of most camcorders. I remember reading a critique about this digital camera on a CNET.com review forum and the person stated that the Powershot S4 IS should have the same video capturing capabilities but with a DVD-quality-sized AVI videoclip (720X480). I like Canon for its optics and this fares well for the Canon AE-1 Program (antique) as well as the Canon Elura 90 mini DV camcorder (videotape-based video cameras also slowly becoming antique).

The Canon Rebel XT is a great dSLR!! I absolutely love it and the features and the photo quality but not always convienient to take along a larger camera and the equipment/lenses etc... The Canon SD900 is my second ELPH and I love it. I had the SD300 before and my daughter is now using it and loves it. I keep the ELPH in my purse at all times and in return have many wonderful impromptu photos of good times/events that we often otherwise would not have captured. I was given a Nikon Coolpix for Christmas one year and took it back within two weeks to trade for the ELPH because the photos were very poor quality. Also, the ELPH has a wonderful video capability with really very good quality. I have also had two Sony Mavica cameras that were good but I LOVE Canon.

Canon EOS 5D. Truly an incredible camera for the money. Love it!

I own a Canon 400D, aka the Digital Rebel XTi.

I started in photography in the early 70's with a Minolta SRT-100 35mm. It had on board metering but nothing else. Going back into the hobby with the XTi is a big difference!

The XTi is awesome and has an insane amount of features and capabilities. The learning curve is long but the results are worth it.

I chose the XTi over the Nikon D40x for clarity in the veiwfinder and price. Nikon seems to be a bit more expensive for a comparable product. The fact that I was able to save more by purchasing a fully warranteed open-box unit made the deal even sweeter.

I have a Fuji finepix S602zoom. It is a wonderful camera for the beginner or advanced photographer.With the zoom capabilities you have great options for shots. In auto mode you have a perfect picture all the time for the unexperienced photographer. The pictures are crisp and clear, perfect for blowing up.

This is a camera for a more adventerous snapper, a top notch lense from one of the best in the business, with features to experiment with to last a lifetime, anyone looking for something a little more up market at a great price will not go wrong with this camera . i will not be chamging this camera till it falls apart on me .

I purchased the Olympus E-Volt 500 in 12/05 and have been extremely pleased with it. I am a novice but the pictures this camera takes boosts my work at least into the "intermediate" zone. It has the ability to shoot completely automatic or completely manual with many set up options in between.

This is my first DSLR. A beginners camera but nevertheless a useful Nikon. I have been using the F100 since last 4 years. This camera the D50 coupled with D-80 Speedlight flashgun gives reasonably good photographs.

Comes with retractable Pentax lenses. Good quality, strong body camera, low internal memory but accept SD cards.

I have the Sony DSC-A73 4.1MP Camera. It has some problems with focusing and color in low light, but for the amount of time I use it, it suits the needs of a poor college student.

I have a Pentaxk110,recently purchases sigma lens what a surprise,are not compatible with my Pentax K110,D also tried Tokina,finally I purchase a pentax lens,from now on only pentax lens.
