Community poll forum: What size monitor do you have for your main computer?

i watch dvd on a ibm thinkpad 15" screen while on overnight site visits

Got two MEDION monitors cheap and use dual monitors specially for running Photoshop. They were on sale in Lidl for 299 Euro (am in Ireland). Unusual to find them there. Wasn't expecting 'top of the range' quality. They are as good as my Sony 17" that cost 600euro two years ago.

It's worth shopping around and don't be swayed by Sony etc. The bargains are available if you check around

I've had a NEC FP2141SB monitor for several years (22 inch CRT monitor - 20 inch viewable area). I haven't seen an LCD monitor that will match it's color, speed, brightness, resolution, or refresh speed for any reasonable price since I bought this monitor. I don't understand the love affairs folks are having with LCD monitors.

I do understand that my monitor eats more desk space (not a concern with me), and is more power hungry than an LCD monitor, but I think the extra power used by my monitor is worth it. How many LCD monitors (at any kind of a reasonable price) will run at 2048 x 1536 at 50 to 86 Hz (I usually run 1600 x 1200 at 100 Hz).

I believe that someday LCD monitors may work as well (if not better) than my current CRT monitor, but until that time, I'm keeping my CRT monitor.

I like the size of the monitor for viewing emails, surfing the net, etc. I would not even think of watching movies on this monitor.

I have a 21" HP f2105 and it's a fantastic monitor. I use it for Photoshop work on my images and editing movies. It had a good review.

I have a Compaq Presario 17-inch monitor that actually measures somewhat less when you measaure diagonally. I don't know how Compaq Presario (read Hewlett-Packard) measures such things. When I asked HP Tech Support, they didn't know either.

Whatever its actual size, it suits my needs perfectly. Resolution is great!

Yup, an HP. It was a free replacement for the F1703 (I think, I can't remember the exact #). I love it so far. Have had it for over a year. And thanks to all of you for the input you left on these boards that allowed me to realize I was due a replacement. If not for you, I'm sure I would have had to spend quite a bit to get another. I love this place!

Great screen and view for the buck. Easy on the eyes...and I bought it in wide screen format, in the event I want to watch a movie.

I haven't gotten the latest TV for my family room. I still have a good Sony tube-type TV there. If and when it breaks, I will definitely look for a hi-def LCD TV for the family room. For now, my Envision is my movie center. I have baby klipsch speakers as well on the PC. I have a leather recliner by the PC...so comfort isn't bad.

17" dell LCD

WOW! I was unaware monitors that size existed. I'm interested in learning who makes it. I have a Dell 3007 WFP 30", and I thought mine was big. My native resolution is 2560 x 1600. What resolution is your monitor?

The D92U... Is sweet.
I don't know what else to say. This is easily the best TV I've ever laid eyes on. We hooked up Supreme Commander and Half-Life 2 up to it.
Both with 1920 x 1080 resolution, and settings cranked to the max.
Half Life 2: NO GHOSTING! Doesn't matter how fast I move with the mouse. Zero ghosting. Sharp, I'm in love.
Supreme Commander: I CAN SEE FOREVER!!!! I can't believe all the little details I'm able to see.
Next purchase: 32" GP1U for the bedroom TV/computer monitor.

I have an Nvidia 8800gts and I use DVI to a pany 50" plasma (60u series).

I use TT for DVDs and also use MyHD for TV. HDTV and DVs are great. I waited 200 breakin hours beofre setting up the TV with the computer.
I also use DSS (HR20-700). Since the Panasonic has two HDMI inuts this is easy and my Harmony 880 makes the swithicng trivial.

MS Media 2005 with patches is my OS.

19"KDS LCD monitor

I've been on a 20" iMac for about 19 or 20 months now. I love the aspect ratio of this thing. As a part-time journalist, it's very convienient to be able to keep a graphics file or web page open (or even a word processing file) and be working in another right along side of it.

Afetr Apple rolls Lepoard out, I'm going to upgrade to a 24" iMac to get just a little more space so that I can keep some larger windows open side by side.

I have a 19 Sylvania CRT monitor purchased over three years ago. It has never given me a problem and is very easy on my eyes. My only concern is that it is heavy & bulky and I periodically have to dust the back of it. My next monitor will be a state of the art 22-25 inch flat screen... I can hardly wait!
