More Microsoft promises of easier, more productive computing. ********!!! I've had every version of Windows released, and I'd guess my productivity has lessened with each. I just got a new computer a few months ago with 2 gig memory, dual 120G SATA HDs,...etc. I was hoping that my previous one just wasn't powerful enough to keep up with XP Pro. Nope! Same daily problems, with Windows slowing down to a crawl at times, almost daily crashes (with a Windows advisory message that Winfax has caused the problem. I haven't had Winfax on a computer for 4 years!!!) Let's face it. Windows is the same bloated pig of software that it has been for a decade! The only way this crap will ever work right is if they build it from the ground up. (Oh! That's right,...XP was"new", wasn't it)
But, Windows is the only game in town if you have work to do! My Mac doesn't crash, but the look is cartoonish, and many of the operations are not as well developed as Win. And, Linux? Does everything well,.. but most of it's productivity packages lack a lot of basic features still.
I HATE Windows, but I'll keep using it a long as I have to. But a newer Windows with more "sugar coating"? Just more things to slow it down. I'm sure by the time the next "new" release is out, I'll have to upgrade because my software won't work. Until then, BG won't get any more of my $$$$.
