Been Using Vista for Two Months and Loving It
I installed Vista Ultimate on my Tablet PC right after it was released to manufacturing. While the architecture of my tablet is older and doesn't support Vista's glitzy Aero-Glass graphics, I still find the OS to be very appealing and in most ways a significant improvement over Windows XP. The OS is extremely stable and I can think of only one driver that I've had problems with (not major). The tablet functionality under Vista is orders of magnitude better than XP, i.e., improved inking responsiveness and handwriting recognition. Vista's integrated search, though not perfect, is a vast improvement over either XP or the various third-party desktop search bolt-ons (e.g., Google Desktop, Yahoo Desktop, etc.). In short, there is no way I would go backwards to XP. I'd lose too much functionality and productivity. As to the suggestion by some to wait for Vista, Service Pack 1 before migrating, I say "balderdash"! If you have the requisite hardware platform (i.e., Pentium 4, 1GB or more of RAM, and the necessary free hard drive space), there is no need whatsoever to wait. All you'll be doing is denying yourself a better user experience.
