Community poll forum: Do you use Internet Explorer 7?

Yes, I downloaded and installed IE7. I use an add-on browser in conjunction with IE7. I really like Acoo Browser with all of it's easily navigable features. I downloaded the Acoo Browser from Cnet.
I've tried other add-on browsers and truly like Acoo Browser.

I am keeping my fingers crossed; I have installed and unstalled this program so many times, it's incredible. I just couldn't view any trailers from certain web pages, mostly CNN. By mistake I somehow lost RealPlayer and when I went to reload it, no dice. So I went to their help chat--lots of things to do but it was successful after cleaning out many ares. On a whim, after installing RealPlayer, sucessfully, I downloaded IE7 again and went to a video trailer in CNN; viola! It worked. I like this program, if it keeps working!

I did download it, but my first day had problems right away and did not care for it immediately wanted to restore 6.

I installed IE7 because - well you have to have the latest and best edition - don't you? Security etc etc. I have a dial up connection. The first time I tried to go on the net after installing I couldn't. The password entry box had gone. The pc kept dialling and kept being refused because my isp wanted the password. As a complete pc amateur and near illiterate I was sweating and very upset by the time frantic button pushing found the solution and got me back my password box.
Now I find that every time I go on the net even once I have established the connection and successfully read my e mail I cannot get into my isp homepage or onto hotmail or any other site without clicking on a "connect" box. The trouble is the box just won't come up sometimes, and I am left watching the wait sign until I give up and reboot. I hate ie 7 and wish I could get rid of it. I tried as soon as I had installed it and found the problems, but it refused to allow me to remove it. Or should I say it was still there after I tried to do a system restore.
The other thing is that my screen quality is now rubbish. Instead of being crisp and black it's grey and fuzzy when I'm on the net and I'm peering at the screen from a foot away and getting eyestrain, and nowhere can I find the option to review and amend this after the intial download gave the option at which time clearly I made the wrong choice. I am very fed up, have sore eyes and sorely tried patience. I feel us poor people who can't afford broadband are being made second class citizens here.

And I do like it.

We are told that IE7 is more secure than IE6. I'll buy that. But I wish they hadn't fiddled with the way it looks and works. I was really comfortable with the way IE6 felt- that part didn't need improving. I don't care for any of the visible changes. I liked my menu bar on the top row WHERE IT BELONGS! I liked just having two rows taking up space at the top of the window. I liked my small "Links" button in the upper right corner. I liked my "Favorites" menu opening immediately to full length without the little arrows that you have to wait on. (I'd like to get rid of ALL of those suckers!). And, I haven't found any good use for "Tabs". So give me an IE8 that feels like an IE6 and I'll be happy. I wish all software companies would concentrate more on making their programs work flawlessly and securely, and less on giving us a "fresh look" that requires re-learning where everything is. But that doesn't sell as much new product, does it?

I have it installed on my machine but I don't seem to use it as I prefer to use Firefox. IE 7 is quite slow, clunky and a bit hard to use from a perspective that they rearranged the tool bars, so I use Firefox.

Firefox while takes forever to boot, is incredibly fast, allows you to customize, uses tabbed browsing (unlike IE that opens new windows when I prefer it to open another tab), made by a non profit organization, and is more secure than IE. Although on some occasions I might use it.

I hate Internet Explorer 7, but it was installed on my new PC. I'd love to go back to IE6.

I installed Internet Explorer 7 last February but I had to roll back to IE 6 because of the conflict with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5. I cannot open the Roxio DVD Builder when I need to burn my project. Roxio is not offering a patch for this problem. The only solution is to just uninstall it.

IE 7 was created for Vista OS. I encountered a problem with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5 when I installed IE 7. I can't open the DVD Builder on Roxio. It kept on crushing. Roxio does not offer a patch for this. The only solution available is to uninstall IE 7. I uninstalled IE 7 which solved my problem and was able to burn all my DVD Projects. You have to uninstall IE 7 through the Control Panel and follow the screen instructions. When you uninstall it, you will be rolling back to IE 6. I did not see any problems rolling back to IE 6.

I don't think microsoft is forcing you or anyone to upgrade to IE 7. You only get updates automatically if you set your computer to get automatic updates. I installed IE 7 in February and had to uninstall it and roll back to IE 6 not because it is slow or not because I don't like it. I uninstalled it because it has a conflict with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5. I have a school project that I need to finish so I did not have a choice. In contrary to what you said, I don't think it is slow. Maybe you should check your computer memory. There could be a lot of reasons why it is running slow in your computer.

There is no doubt that IE 7 is a good program. I had it for a weeks. It has a lot of features. If your computer is new with no older versions third party programs go for it. Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5 has a conflict with IE 7. I cannot the projects that I created because the DVD Builder would not open. IE 7 was made for Windows Vista users. I am not blaming Microsoft for this problem. It is too bad that Roxio does not provide a patch to fix the problem because they have a newer version that is made for Vista users. I had two choices, uninstall IE 7 and roll back to IE 6 or to buy Roxio Easy Media Creator 9. Buying the newer version of Roxio is not a solution either because a lot of people at the Roxio Community were complaining about crashes. I opted to uninstall IE 7 because I needed to burn 35 DVDs for the school and I am glad I did because I was able to finish my project.

Try uninstalling IE 7 through the Control Panel's Add or Remove Program. Restart your computer and check and see if your software works. Hope this helps!
