I know the forward/back icons. THEY WERE NOT THERE.

The first 2 times I installed the program, the icons were not there. I waited a few months and tried again. There they were. I think that was an IE7 problem. I don't believe it was up to par when it first came out. I didn't change my computer or buy a new one, but now they are there. Now that it works right, I am still not impressed. A waste of time to change. MY OPINION- THEY S*CK! And, all the computer geek insults and rudeness won't change my mind. And YES, I KNOW HOW TO USE MY COMPUTER.
Yea

I LOVE IE7
I gave it a bad review when I ran it on my slow laptop in its Beta 2 stage, and then amended that not long ago when I saw 7 in its true beauty. Robert Vamosi is just biased full stop.
I also am very liking XP now, its greatly more stabilised if you shut off automatic updates in my opinion.
Go Ryo Hazuki!! Woop Woop!
IE7 and antivirus PC-cillin or any one!
by The Bob - 11/1/06 7:15 PM
In Reply to: Will you download and use Internet Explorer 7? by Marc Bennett
Since I've install IE7 my PC-cillin 14 detect vulnerabilities that do not exist like MS06-055 that dos not apply to my IE7. The MS04-41 and MS06-014 Microsoft told me and as check my computer that they are installed on my computer and PC-cillin tells me it's Microsoft. It took me 3 weeks of e-mail and searching on the web, Microsoft and PC-cillin.
I have XP home on a Dell server 2 xeon and i don't have M.Office but o.o.o.2.0 (open office)
IE7 Doe's a great job but has bugs...like it closed wen you go to certain places or you try to open a link in another window. But they have all there bugs anyway from 95 to XP and Firefox to or any of them so why complain instead of fixing if we are so smart to find bugs. I'm trying and do not know anything!
Thank you! From a french Canadian hoe trying to write English...at least I'm trying!
Have a nice day trying! The Bob.

I downloaded it but soon had to uninstall as my hp all-in-on quit working. HP hopes to have a fix soon. I 'm thinking it would be smart to wait till all the bugs are worked out, after reading everyones concerns. You guys are great!
Anti-Phising Toolbar Tracks your Personal Data
by skicat56 - 11/1/06 7:38 PM
In Reply to: Will you download and use Internet Explorer 7? by Marc Bennett
I currently have no plans to use IE7 and I have set "Automatic Updates" to manual so Microsoft will not sneak the installation onto my system.
I might consider using IE7 if the Anti-Phishing Toolbar can be disabled or removed.
As reported by Steve Gibson at Security Now, the built in Anti-Phishing Toolbar will route all your data through Microsofts servers.
This is done to validate the web site request as being either positive, for a known Phishing site or negative, a safe place to visit according to Microsoft.
I do not care to have Microsoft looking over my shoulder as I go about my travels on the internet.
Internet Explorer 7? No thanks...

Anyone out there ever found a Microsoft program that wasn't full of bugs, failures and flaws? I haven't.
Ever found an upgrade to a Microsoft program that wasn't as a result of a bug, failure, flaw in the previous version or a copy of someone else's good idea? I haven't. (Think Vista is going to be good? Try out the current Apple OS and see if you are going to like Vista.)
I found Internet Explorer 6 always to be a surfing nightmare due to what, to me, seems to be a profound inability to address security and the recent posts suggest to me Internet Explorer 7 is just a continuation (perhaps worse) with the usual Microsoft pointless, useless and annoying "upgrades" designed to make it appear they've done something.
Sick of it? Try Firefox, Opera or anything else, you won't be disappointed. I stuck with Internet Explorer 6 for years and now have Firefox, boy, was I ever wasting my time!!! (Warning though I found Internet Explorer to be an insidious program hard to deactivate... I think another reason to dump it!!)
Yes!

I'm in that boat with you and it's not sinking and trying to bail out! I like Firefox and Opera equally. I prefer firefox due to the full version release from day one without having to pay to get rid of the banner area of Opera. IE stinks!

I'm a dyed in the wool, card carrying Firefox user... converted from Opera which I used for years. I haven't actually used IE (except when forced by badly written websites - and now not at all thanks to IE TAB) for about 9 or 10 years. I'd rather have a tooth pulled with no pain killers than go back to IE.
I hear ya!

Aaaamen! It tool MSIE forever to learn from others and now they call IE 7 something new! Looks like they stole another idea(s) from other browsers and selling (not really, just a term) to microsoft lovers and something NEW in the world of browsing. LOL!

IE7 tab?

In Reply to: Download and use Internet Explorer 7? I don't think so... by HawaiiMuskrat
I dislike IE7 and am having many problems. Fortunately, I too only use it when forced to by certain sites. For the last year, I used the Verizon fios/Yahoo hybrid browser, which, it turns out is a modified IE. no wonder it's goofy. They have changed the bookmarks and some other things that make it difficult to use and I hate it.
As soon as I figure out how to export my extensive bookmark file so I can use it in Firefox, I will do so. The folks at Verizon are playing dumb. There is no information on how to export bookmarks to use in another program and I cannot find them on my computer! They keep sending me information on how to import bookmarks into their browser bar, & directing me to their so called help page.
Anyway, hmm, what's the IE tab in Firefox. I could not find it.
Thx
IE7

Okay so you don't like Microsoft and its products. But you never answered the poll and question that was asked by Cnet. Furthermore, your answer had nothing to do with what was being discussed. Therefore, your comment means absolutely nothing, 0, zilch, nada.
No I will never use IE any more than I absolutely have to

I tried both the last beta release as well as the first production release and found IE7 to be a resource hog. It starts out working fine, but then slows down more and more as it's being use.
Bottom line: I went back to Firefox.
Not a chance!

Norton Symantec seems to have a problem with live update on some of its software with this version.
I went through live chat hell with this problem. The tech`s that didn`t know what the problem was or couldn`t figure it out just disconnected, and sometimes after just hearing the problem never responded and disconnected.
Eventually I got someone who went through the paces with me and got it straightened out.
I prefer to keep IE version 6.0

Internet Explorer 7 "may" be more secure, I really can't make a comment on it's security as Internet Explorer 6.0 may be just as secure with the recent patches. In respect to use, I like version 6.0 much better, maybe because it isn't as slow as version 7.0, again it's hard to say as I know it may be my computer, my provider or who knows what but it just doesn't work as well for me. I like version 6.0 and if it's not broke, why fix it but then I use Firefox for the most part anyway.

At work we still have over 50% of our machines (maybe much more!) on Windows 2000. Since everything works fine, we have no reason to cycle these machines or OS out the door yet.
I'm also making progress to get more Open Office's installed since that's going to be our million dollar savings for this small office.

is they never get the bugs worked out of them and they tend to mess with other stuff thats loaded on your computer so there fore I'll let other folks who's in a rush to do explorer 7 and then complain and buy yards
of duct tape to rap around there heads to keep it from exploding . and bill and crew will work out the bugs
then it might be worth doing . for now ya know
Google works good for me the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence for example windows 98 to start now to then and in between .
hey everyone be cool

Oh, yeah - I d/l'ed it and installed it - well, I TRIED to install it! Everything went fine until the reboot - came up with BSOD, and wouldn't load. No safe mode, no Last Known Good Configuration, nothing. Had to restore from Ghost b/u and I swear I won't make that mistake again! Internet Exploder 7.0 "Update" now resides in my ''Hidden Updates'' folder! All I ever use IE for is Windows Updates anyway, so I really don't need IE7. FF2.0 - now, that's where my vote goes!

That is exactly the case that happened to me, especially with 'tabbed browsing' enabled.
Another thing you might want to know about is that its Release Candidate (RC) Version (to me) never produced such ironic results.
I would say that the RC version was more-or-less more 'bugproof'.
No to IE7

IE7 crashes each time I close a tab, and all other IE windows that are responding close as well if you respond 'end now' to the dialog 'This program is not responding.'
To tell the truth, IE6 is far better by lightyears.
PS:
Windows/Microsoft update may attempt to install this automatically, DON'T, switch to MANUAL updates!
