Community poll forum: What do you do most with your digital photos?

I've always used my SLR 35mm camera for sending off photos to family and friends. And I still do! But the cost of the film and then the developing has forced me into using my new digital camera more and more.

This past summer we took two vacations, one of which was visiting family with a grandchild. That digital got a real work-out, and the photos are wonderful. I use Corel's Photo Album to fix them up a bit, and then off they go through my email program. Sure beats the cost of double or even triple prints!

I've done graphic work on very personal business cards for years, priding myself on getting to know my clients well enough to be able to suit each card to each career or home life. Now with the digital camera, I can unobtrusively take a few shots as we chat to remind myself of my perceptions rather than scribbling a few notes.

I fought getting a digital; I liked my 35mm so much and took (take) such great photos with it. Now I see a use for both, and I'm really glad I got surprised last Christmas with a digital camera from my husband!

I now most people are in to digital this and digital that, however I still use a 35 mm camera. Many photo sites will copyright your photos for you, as you have to say that you are the person who took the photo, digital or 35 mm. That helps as far as the copyright. Now for protecting them. I like to put them on my personal site, that way I can use a throw away address from the site as I've even had a copyrighted photo stolen. It had a copyright on it because it became part of a book on photography, and the copyright was done for me, and the photo is now in the Library of Congress. But sometimes, no matter how hard you try, (copyright), (sending it to yourself through the US mail will also copyright it), some people will steal photos.
Anyway, I prefer to put them safely on my site and then use the throw away address so people cannot get back to the site and copy every single photo.
I have a Windows XP, NT, 2000, which I guess I am going to have to upgrade soon.

I print the copies I need or want handy, store the rest of them onto my computer, I DO NOT erase them from my compact flash card and continue to use the card until its filled (continuing to print and store on my computer as I go along), then I run off a proof sheet of thumbnail size pictures and store them away together for furure use. Replace a new compact flash card in my camera and start over again.
