Community poll forum: What wallpaper do you use for your computer's desktop?

Although I only see it momentarily after booting my computer and when accessing a file/folder on my desktop, I am still funny about having a nice desktop wallpaper that matches my ever-changing themes. (I patched my uxtheme.dll so I can make my computer look like anything from Windows Vista to Max OS X.) So, I created a separate folder containing backgrounds I downloaded from the internet for each theme, and then have the wallpaper automatically changed every hour to another matching theme. Right now I have a collection of over 150 wallpapers in the mix, so I never get tired of quick glimpses of them. This, of course, complements over 20GB (4,000+ hours) of music playing at random in the background while working. Any questions over some of the customizations I've made?

I agree Webshots all the way. I can use my own personal photos and let Webshots rotate the desktop photos. The screen saver works the same way.

I have my family photos, especially my new granddauther, on Webshots and use them thru Webshots. I have it set so they can change every day, or if I want every hour or.... It is a great place to share pics also.

I use Magentic a free service from Incredimail-they have a lot of great stuff including wallpapers and screensavers

Since I'm big into digital photography, I use my own pictures and change them whenever I get tired of the current one. Now I have a night photo of the ball at EPCOT that I took in February.

I bought a membership in Webshots several years ago because of the variety and quality of their published professional photos. My screen saver is Webshots and now contains about 12,000 top quality pix of every conceivable subject on the planet. Many of these photos lend themselves ideally to desktop wallpaper use, and the Webshots program allows you to use any of their photos for this purpose. You can elect to change your wallpaper as often as every 15 minutes to as seldom as 'never.'In my opininion collections of photos such as these are invaluable for people who enjoy top quality pictures, taken by professionals under the best of conditions.

mood of the moment, mostly. right now I have a very cool sky/clouds thing, next week it might be a picture of the garden. Im into digital photography, and usually like my own (or a friend's)much better than most of the commercially produced photos, which tend to be too contrasty, too 'set'.

But sometimes I also use my own pictures of family and sometimes something from the Net that I liked. My kids often change the wallpaper to something they like as well, so it changes all the time.

I use personal photos from my Kodak file, mostly of my grandson.

Love Webshots. Just changed over to my "Patriotic" collection. That will stay up till after the "Fourth" and then I'll switch over to some cool ski and snow scenes for the hot summer. I have about 1K photos.

Wallpaper looks nice, but it uses CPU resources and is not necessary. I don't use a screen saver for the same reason.
