Community poll forum: What size USB flash drive do you use (and which type)?

At the time of purchase, it was the best price available.

I have a 1G Kingmax flash drive, I believe it's the smallest (in physical size) on the market today. I use it to transfer my Horse racing data between my Desktop and Laptop, so incase I need to ghost my 'C' drive from backup files, my current Horse racing data won't get clobbered.

That 512 tells U how big that thingy is. The USB 2.0 means it'l take advantage of the faster 2.0 USB found on many computers the last two years or so. (It should also work with older USB 1 ). You say inoperable? It dosen't do anything by itself, after you plug it in, you double-click the Computer Icon, then look for a new drive letter that you didn't have before. Then double-click that drive. then you can drag-n-drop. I hope that is what you meant by "inoperable".

First off, let me say that I am far from expert authority. I have a couple of these things, and mine work nice and I use them for many things, Like, I have lots'a Pictures, and when I go visiting relatives, can just plug that little drive in, transfer my pic.s to someone else's computer. School kids can get stuff from school and bring it home to work on.
Please go back and re-read my first post, the part after "inoperable?". The ones that I have do not put icon out where you can see it. You have to OPEN the MY COMPUTER icon. When it comes up, you see a listing of drives. I can't tell you what letter to look for because don't know what else you may have in your computer. Just try open the one that has highest alphabet letter. That may be "E" or "F". If your flash drive is new, you won't find anything in it until you put something in. Let me know, here, if you cn find and open it. Ol Rod

I have 2 Flash Sticks currently.
One I found at school which is a 512 MB DSE.
It runs very fast, and transfers at 15 mb/s.

My second is an old (4 years old) mp3 player which conked out and am using it as a Flash Stick. Its size is 128 MB.
However I have ordered a fatmax 8GB. Should be here in a few days.

I use the Voyager 32 GB flash drive. It holds most of my electronic life without a problem. My music files on the other hand are stored on an 1 TB external hard drive by SeaGate.
