Community poll forum: How many megapixels does your digital camera have?

I have a Kodak Z730 5 MP.

7 good mega pixels. Very nice camera and a wonderful display for a 71 years old owner.

Mine is a relatively old digital camera (Olympus C-3030 zoom) and the thing I dislike about it the most is the shutter lag time. By the time I press the button to take a picture the subject has moved. The next is too may bells and whistles. It's just too many of them.

I recently bought a Canon D60 on eBay. I spent less than for a new Digital Rebel so there is a trade-off. More features in the D60 and more megapixels in a Rebel. I am happy with that.

5.0 Megapixal with a Schneider-Kreuznach Lens. Takes sports shots, a bit of video, and takes beautiful pictures EXCEPT, the darn drag time. Their customer service has been awsome. Also I wish I had a better flash.

I wanted to change brands, (this is my third, I started with the DC215 and am now at this one). It has a lot of bells and whistles I have not begun to use.

I'm a pro photographer, and there are way too many digis out there to choose from!!
BUT.....my eye was caught by the Konica-Minolta. These guys have teamed up to turn out a VERY friendly camera. Fast response time on power up and simple intuitive controls. It's like my Nikon 2020, where I can have a lot of bells and whistles if I choose, but allows me to take complete control of ALL of the camera functions. I have 4 digi's....2 are the K-M, the first and most useful being the DiMage 4.0, then the Z-50; then a Fuji Finepix 2 meg and then a pvr.
I will always try to find a camera that takes SD memory, even tho I have a multi-card reader. I mean, c'mon....1 GIG SD? Who could ask for more?
The resolution of this camera (DiMage) is excellent, and I have no complaints at all on it.
Bottom line tho is this: why are you taking photos? I use a digi so as to never be without a camera.
If I'm taking fine art shots.....I will ALWAYS use film! I don't care HOW many megs you have in a cmos; you will NEVER get the fine resolution you get and need from film.

The Sony is 5 megapixels
The Canon is an 8.2 megapixels SLR.

I whole heartily agree with you. I have a Minolta DiMage S414 and an Olympus c5500 Both cameras have served me well. I buy for the price of the cameras that I think will do the job. Not for people to say he has a Nikon or a Canon. Nikon and Canon are a little pricey for me and my budget.

I have an older (relativly) FujiFilm 1.3 mp 1400Z.
My biggest complaint is the low resolution of the pictures and secondly the recovery time for the 2nd shot. I tend to use my DV camera and make stills from the video for sequential shots.

These two cameras are great one is 2 meg the other is 3 meg both work great very good battery life canon cant be beat Norb

A bit bulky & a bit less than perfect user friendliness.

i have an olympus c-8080 wide angle with zoom. it is probably the most awesome camera i have ever owned. i take fast action shots with a clarity i never got with my old 35mm. i take photos of my horses running, hummingbirds and butterflies and my sons doing "big air" on a sky ski. i am their official photographer. it takes a little time to learn your camera and a steady hand with the zoom, especially the enhanced zoom, but i have had over a year to practice. i rarely have a failed photograph and have had 5 photos published on websites for texas ornithological society and channel 11 news in houston. it is an awesome camera and the price has gone down quite a bit since i bought mine. by the way. for those of you who are getting the life sucked out of your batteries, buy some metal hydride rechargables. you can find them not to expensive with a charger. i keep three sets for my 2 meg olympus camera and i bought 2 of the special batteries required for my c-8080. that is the only drawback to the c-8080. special batteries are very expensive, but mine are 17 months old and i take several hundred photographs a week. in some months i take several thousand photographs. you cannot beat a good camera and a steady hand (even with a squirming child) for great photos. i have had practice with the latter for the last 5 years.

It's very slow on the up take. It's really difficult to anticipate and pretrigger to get any type of action shots. The stills a wonderful.
