Hi! Any idea how to sync Faststone image viewing order with Windows 7 folder view?
I have different file arrangement settings for different folders (date, type, etc..), but Faststone has its own system that I have to change separately. Would want them to work together: if I change the Windows folder view, it would also arrange Faststone differently.
2nd question: Is there a way for Faststone to skip certain file types. I take photos with RAW+JPG. Would want to view only jpg-s (and work on raws exclusively in Photoshop), but Faststone shows also RAWs, making viewing slower.
In essence: I would like Faststone to view pictures in a similar way as Windows Picture and Fax viewer. I prefer Faststone to the latter, because it is of course much faster. But these two problems annoy the crap out of me. If anyone has other picture viewer recommendations, please recommend!

I haven't used Faststone myself but it seems from their web site here, http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm , that their file manager is based on Explorer anyway.
That means when you open any file location in Faststone it should offer the same View options as any Explorer window. The problem with application file managers is that they tend to remember the last selected option. That means, I believe, that unlike Explorer where we can set View options for each folder and Windows generally remembers those options, that may not be the case with Faststone.
If it doesn't do that then all you can do is contact the developer and ask if this is a feature they can include in the next version upgrade.
Many file manipulation apps like Faststone offer to have specific file types to be 'associated' with the app. If Faststone does this then that option may be in it's Tools > Options, although the Options may be elsewhere.
See if you can find that there.

Microsoft removed that feature from Explorer and there is no way to put it back in.
Again, Microsoft's Explorer does not offer such a view and never will. I can only guess folk only find out about this after they try.
