Is Adobe CS6 Master Collection USA different to Australia?

I'm looking to buy Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection but the product available from Adobe in Australia is over 50% more expensive than the product available in the USA. Exchange rate is not the issue as our dollars are around parity, Is there a difference in the product between our two countries, or is Adobe simply gouging (inflating) the price in Australia.

I can't find a contact email to ask them directly.

I'm finding widely ranging prices between Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk for Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection. I just wondered what your own Amazon.au lists it as.

And even at Adobe.com and Adobe.co.uk there are differing amounts, not wholly explainable by exchange rate differences.

Is there a difference in the product between nations? I can't tell you "no" with 100% certainty but "no" is usually the case. The only difference would be the initial install where language, keyboard, (and perhaps Country), is set.

What may be different is taxes, VAT, etc.

We don't have an amazon.com.au. Thanks for mentioning amazon.com as they do offer cheaper prices than recommended retail.

Obviously the postage and handling charges from the USA do contribute to increased costs and given the item is more than $1,000AUD, we have to add the imposition of Customs duty, our internal Goods and Services Tax at 10% and an import processing charge, but in this case it still works out cheaper to import from the USA.

I'll avoid Adobe and their Australian satellite company. I'm thinking the product is the same, it must be some internal cost structures, profit margin or marketing strategy that makes the difference in prices so ridiculous.

In regards to language, our only difference is traditionalists in Australia tend to want to use the UK spelling rather than the USA alterations. Software from the USA sometimes incorporates the choice of each of these two alternatives, but my current Adobe suite uses USA English, such as "color" versus "colour", and I live with it.

You see that in Canadian versions as French is mandated so you pay a little more.

Not a lot but folk do balk at this.
