Does anyone know a good piece of software for stop motion?

I need it to voice over videos and add special effects like explosions and gun fire.
i dont want the software to be too expensive or to complicated.

Even today you find folk taking years of college classes to learn animation and how to create such things. Maybe there will be a "no lessons required" software for you someday. Maybe it is here now but you have to pay up?

Did you try the Apple video editing, creation software? Nice stuff, and for folk that don't want to invest their time to learn old Windows apps.

like Aardman's Wallace & Gromit?

Their stop-motion is with physical characters, (not CGI), and I believe they create the film then add background music and sound effects in afterwards. That would be normal video editing software.

They look good and should be fun to work with. But the method would still be the same. Do the story board and film the stop motion, then add after effects afterwards.

Download Photo Story and see if that might do what you want, it is worth a shot, it is a free software download and is used for doing slide shows and has other features as well. It shows as only being compatible with Win XP but it DOES work with later operating systems including Win 7. The nice thing about it, it is a free download.
