Photo viewing software

Help! I'm looking for an image viewing software that will also display embedded metadata.

I do not need this software to have editing capabilities - we just need something simple. We want this software for a museum, so visitors can view different galleries, or search by tags/keywords that we've already embedded into the photos. We have the original images stored on a separate computer and organized with portfolio 8 software. we have portfolio browser, but it just looks confusing for the average person, although the buttons are 'deactivated' so no one can click 'delete' and loose a photo or edit a photo in any way.

Because it is to be used by the general public, we want this software to be simple...not too many buttons to click lest we confuse the viewer.

any ideas?

I am currently developing applications with the latest Visual Studio 2008, .NET and more and it appears that it shouldn't be too hard to write such a thing.

You may want to try FlipAlbum.

You can easily create a digital photo album that looks and feels like the paper photo album, complete with page-flipping. Hence, it is intuitive for the readers to flip through.

You can easily add the photos together with the filenames within 3 clicks. You can automatically add basic photo info. like file size, file date, image format, image size, camera used to take the photo, capture date and mode if necessary, besides manually adding any other text info like keywords. There is no limit to the amount of text that you can add in the digital album. You can also add music and video if you like.

There is also no limit to the number of photos you can place on a page, and there is no limit to the number of pages you can have on a digital album.
