Suggestion for last possible post in a thread or sub

Perhaps this has been requested. I'd wonder if people would be interested in knowing in advance that their post would be the one that hit the limit.

If you see that limit, reply to the person further up or to the top post.

is looking for a response but hits the limit unknowingly. I'm sure there's a way to calculate when one is near or at the limit but thought a warning indicator might be helpful.

better idea?

why not just forget the limits and put a reply button that is the same as the last reply button in those "limited" message and change it to read "your next message will appear at the end of this thread". That way no looking back to find a reply button, no expectation of the message being in order anymore, knowing where it will appear, and making it easier for all.
