Manage updates with the Download App
Sometimes when I'm proof-reading something I'm about to post, I want to click back into the text, but when I do, the cursor disappears. Neither a mouse click nor the arrow keys will move it. This doesn't happen in any other editor I've ever seen. Is this a known bug or what?

It's very rare and I can usually click in the text box then Control A, then Control C to copy the text to Windows clipboard in case it doesn't come back.

PS. Only happened to me a year ago but browsers and such are updated and I haven't seen it since.
Interesting, it's happening to me all the time w/IE9

Bob, thanks for the reply. It seems to be happening to me all the time. I'm using IE9 with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium at the latest update level. Maybe I should see if this happens with Firefox. MS seems to have intermittent problems with IE.
I just tried moving the cursor up. It wouldn't move. Is there something I can do to help isolate the problem? I have very good computer skills.
It's IE9!

I just tested it with Firefox 16. It doesn't happen there! I believe I've stumbled on an IE9 bug. Verrry interesting. If anybody else reports it, at least now we know what it is, but why it only affects the CNET forums is a mystery to me. I guess it must be something different about the HTML used here.
About IE. Sorry, not something I use often.

MSFT lost me years ago for that browser. Yes, I'll check it works for stuff at the office but beyond that, all I can add is you don't want to use the 64 bit IE9 browser unless you love testing.

I hear you, Bob. Since 1989 I've been one of MSFT's biggest fans. Until this year that is. I hope I'm wrong about them, but since Mr. Gates left as CEO, especially this year, I'm starting to wonder about them. I wish them well, but they're sure chipping away at my faith. Oh well, this isn't a philosophy forum, is it!

I have apps on Windows running in factories doing tests, making reports and MSFT's latest appears to abandon all that and chasing Apple and the iPad. Sure, why not?
I also have Windows Mobile apps and those were great to create and worked out very well. But in that space they threw everything away and my apps may never run again on Windows Phone. So be it? OK, those are going to Android.
