To create a new discussion, or to respond to a current discussion (does not matter where or in what thread) a c|net user must logon.
Here's the catch:
Java must be enabled in the web browser for this to happen.
No java installed on present system as Sun seems to have a very hard time keeping up with the latest hacks and exploits; new ones appear almost daily at times, and it often seems to be that way.
So, why force a user to use web-based java to logon? I can say other sites I visit do not require this. Why c|net?
Can c|net change the way an user logs on without using java without a major rework?
Test: Turn off java in your browser and see what happens. Oops!
