Thread response time limit

Should there be an auto lock on threads that are a year or two or three old?
Threads pop up from four or five years ago.....do we need that?

but what we find, more often than not, are posters who add to old threads needing help and advice. We usually suggest that they need to re-post instead of burying their requests in old threads. Many helpers just 'walk on by' when they see the age of the discussion.
So for that reason we have asked Lee to ask the forum engineers to consider this and they are doing. But I'm guessing it is low priority.
Locked 'older' threads will not prevent them from being available in Google etc searches, so the information is still there, but members will not be able to respond.

I don't normally read many threads that are 4-5-6 years old.
Some forums lock threads based on age........pro's and con's I suppose.
