What the heck happened to CNET TV?

When I go fullscreen and then hit escape, there is an annoying scroller to other videos right in the center of the screen and the X to close it doesn't work.

The initial embedded Flash video does not fill to the right size and I hate that I can't control the resolution any more in fullscreen.

Thanks, Lee. Nice to know they are on top of things. Also, I'm not sure why they decided to make the player video resolution automatic. I got plenty of bandwidth but I hate when it switches from like 480 I to 720P to 480 I on its own.

Go back and give users a choice!

Well, the screen is fixed and no more annoying scroll in the middle but the resolution of the player is still determined automatically.

Even at work with like 50M downspeed, it keeps switching to 360 or 480 and only goes to 720p for a few seconds. Liked it better when we could just specify a fixed rez.

Auto-detecting the user's bandwidth is great, but the user should be able to choose for a few reasons:
1.) Auto-detection is not perfect, and may determine the 'incorrect' speed.
2.) The user may be willing to accept lag in exchange for higher quality.
3.) The user may have data caps and thus desire smaller file sizes rather than higher quality.

An override option, as there was before, would be appreciated.

Now looks like crap

CNET TV now always plays in the lowest possible resolution, rendering it all but unwatchable. What has happened here?

I have plenty of bandwidth and a 27" high rez monitor and my choice is now to watch a tiny box in the middle of the screen or full screen where I can count the individual pixels.

Come on CNET, you can do better than this.

Sorry you guys are having issues. We rolled out a fix for some of the resolution problems you were encountering late last Thursday. If you guys are still seeing issues can you tell me if you are watching fullscreen or not, and right click on the player/video and choose "Copy Debug Info" and paste it here so we can troubleshoot a bit?

Debug info

I tried to give you the debug info but get an error message "Your submission includes invalid characters. Note that only characters on a standard English keyboard will be accepted."

The video still looks very poor and resolution changes constantly while watching, but never looks like either 720 or 1080.
