Forum feedback forum: Searching forums is cumbersome

Thank you for letting me know. I think the CNET logo threw me off because I was thinking it searched your publications instead of a specific forum.

But one thing is now clear. This is no longer a Mac website. 95% of the content is directed to PCs. That's unfortunate from a Mac user's perspective.

Looking at the forum directory, I don't see 95% of the forums directed towards PCs.

Either my math is terrible or I'm missing something here.

Please let me know.

PC dominance

It divides all of the prominent OSes out there. And the other forum topics on this page appear to support hardware that is not essentially Mac driven.

This is an expansion of the MacFixit focus. The MacFixit name alone said it all. And the forums were second only to the Apple managed forums. Just doing a search on the forums often solved a nagging Mac hardware or software problem.

PCs have an abundance of resources. So MacFixit filled a void in a very specific niche.

Once you start intermingling PC, then the game automatically gravitates toward PC due to its (should I say it) "obnoxious" dominance.

Just stating a personal opinion.

Upon reading your posts, I do see that Mac is definitely represented better than I thought. But it certainly no longer leads the website as it once did.

There used to be MacOS. Mac Hardware, Mac Software. Nw these have been expanded.

These more specifically focused forums could have grown out of the increased popularity of Apple products. iTunes and iPhones are now a part of the general arena.
