Editing iTunes Source List

Yesterday, I just had a few items on this Source List. Today, after doing some downloading and importing, suddenly there are multiple listings for each of the items, as many as forty for some items, such as '90s Music, a genre from which I downloaded a few songs. (I don't recall genres being there at all before, but if they were it would have been listed only once because there were no duplications before today.) I can delete the duplicates from the list one by one, but since there are perhaps three hundred or more duplicates I am wondering if there is not an easier way to edit the list. Since I can't find an easier way, I thought I'd see if anyone has a suggetion. Also, perhaps someone has an idea as to why the duplicates appeared and how I can avoid this happening in the future. I've deleted all of the entries I was complaining about. But I'd like to know what happened, how all these entries got on the SourceList without my doing anything I know of to create them, so I can hopefully avoid the problem in the future. Any ideas? grandpaw

Itunes sucks, plain and simple. Try MusicMatch Jukebox for managing your music.

NRen2k5, about switching

If I switch from iTunes to MusicMatch, it there any way to keep the songs I paid for at iTunes on my hard drive, or is all I can do to preserve them to make sure I have burned them to a CD?

Can I take songs from iTunes which I have burned to a CD and then put them back on my hard drive in My Music folder or some other folder? If so, can you help me know how to to do this?

NRen2k5, do you know of a good MusicMatch forum where I could ask questions about using it? It's difficult to get answers on regular forums such as this or on the support features the programs themselves have. ITunes has discussion forums and I thought MusicMatch might also. I find that I often fail to comprehend net explanations that everyone else seems to understand with no problem. Must to old age. That, or old whiskey. grandpaw7
