Digital music forum: Re-Ripping all my CDs -- What Lossless Format to Use?

I'm not so sure about WavPack. I'm considering purchasing the Sonos "ZonePlayers" and Controller for my home and I need MP3, WAV or FLAC (it supports others, but not WavPack).

I want better quality than MP3, but I don't want to buy a TerraCity to hold all the WAVs I'd have.

In that case, should I rip using EAC but convert to FLAC?

I have a Logitech "Music Anywhere" (referred to as the Logitech Wireless Music for PC on your reviews web site) that uses the Bluetooth A2DP wireless audio streaming protocol.

I also have a Saitek a250 iFreedom Bluetooth Speakers that also uses the Bluetooth A2DP wireless audio streaming protocol.

For some reason I can't get components from both systems to talk to each other. For instance, why can't the Logitech transmitter connect to the Saitek speaker's (with built in) receiver. Also, I can't get the Saitek transmitter to connect with the Logitech receiver.

If they're both using the same protocol, why can't I interchange these components and have them connect to each other?

Get "CDex" at http://cdexos.sourceforge.net Without a doubt, it's the best program to use for not only ripping CD's, but also for converting WAV files to MP3, which will always be around. Perhaps one of the nicest features of CDex is the fact that it rips directly to your hard drive, bypassing your sound card. The resulting audio file can be a plain WAV file (useful for making compilation audio CDs) or the ripped audio data can be compressed using an audio encoder. Many encoders are supported. In addition, WAV files on the hard drive can be converted to a Compressed Audio File (and visa versa). CDex also supports many audio file tag formats like the ID3V1 and ID3V2 tags, which can be automatically inserted as part of the ripping process.
